The killer of five people was transferred to the “Black Dolphin”

Found guilty of the murder of realtor Maria Shkarupa, her mother Valentina Bormotova and three children, 21-year-old Ivan Ivanchenko was transferred from the Tula pre-trial detention center. Let us remind you that the crime in house No. 102-a on the street. Kutuzov in Tula was committed in the fall of 2011. Ivanchenko was detained two days after neighbors and police discovered the bodies of the victims.

Ivanchenko will serve his life sentence in the Orenburg region, a source in the region’s law enforcement agencies told a Myslo correspondent.

In the Orenburg region there is only one special regime correctional colony for life prisoners - “Black Dolphin”. A terrible dream even for prisoners who have the blood of dozens of victims on their hands. What will Ivan Ivanchenko have to face if now he really is a prisoner of the “Black Dolphin”, from which there has been no escape since 1967?..

Any violation is severely punished

So, the prisoner was brought to the colony. Part of the path from the paddy wagon to the premises, although it passes through a closed area, is visible from some buildings in the city. Relatives of the victims, dissatisfied with the verdict, may try to organize an assassination attempt with the help of a sniper, so the prisoner makes this entire journey accompanied by armed guards and with a bag on his head. Only the guards know who they are leading this time.

First, newcomers will face a 15-day quarantine. During it, those serving their sentences also become familiar with the internal regulations. The “trained” prisoners are immediately made to understand that any refusal may entail the use of tear gas and rubber batons on the prisoners...

Those sentenced to life have nothing to lose, and the administration of the institution understands this well. Every second, 24 hours a day, an order that has been proven over the years reigns here, for violation of which not only the culprit, but also his “colleagues” are severely punished. A number of innovations are based on the bitter experience of others. So, not very long ago, in one of the colonies of the Perm region, a prisoner threw an electric wire on the cell door, and then called the guard. Having touched the door, the warden received a not fatal, but sensitive electric shock. It was not an escape attempt, but rather a “joke” of a person who will not face a more severe punishment than the sentence already imposed. Since then, electricity in the cells has been turned on only at a strictly defined time and only for a little bit...

During the USSR

In Soviet times until the mid-1960s, it was an ordinary penal colony. It was within its walls that the German actress Carola Neher died of typhus in 1942. After the Nazis came to power in Germany in 1934, she and her husband, communist Anatoly Becker, moved to the USSR.

However, already in 1936 they were both arrested and convicted under the notorious Article 58. Becker was sentenced to death, and Neer herself received 10 years in the camps and was sent to the Sol-Iletsk colony. In 1959, Neher and Becker were rehabilitated.

After the war, the Sol-Iletsk colony received the status of an NKVD prison for holding persons under investigation. In 1965, it was rebuilt again, this time to house prisoners suffering from severe forms of tuberculosis.

In 2000, this institution underwent another conversion - this time into a special regime colony, which would house prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment. In connection with the radical change of regime, a huge amount of work was done to reorganize the cameras, tracking and access systems , the staff was significantly increased, and even a new building was put into operation.

Since then, the colony has been the largest place of detention of its type. It can hold up to 1,600 people.

Open eyes - an attempt to attack the guards!

The Black Dolphin has several buildings. In the new one, the cells are “modified” - a thick grille is located inside at a distance of about a meter from the concrete walls. All cameras, in order to avoid digging, are located no lower than the second floor. The window is designed in such a way that you can only see a small piece of the sky through it. This eliminates the possibility of exploring the territory of the colony and planning an escape.

You are allowed to sleep only in the light and with your head towards the door. Covering your face is prohibited. If a prison officer sees a violation, the command “to the original!” is immediately given to the entire cell. Prisoners are required to jump up, bend over, rest their head against the nearest wall, close their eyes, place their hands with outstretched fingers far back and open their mouth. Changing the position is allowed only after the command “expense!”

One prisoner is taken out into the corridor by at least two colony employees. Even closing your eyes at the wrong time is already regarded as an attempt to attack the guard, during which it is allowed to use rubber batons and tear gas. In addition, in case of an emergency, special narrow pipes for ejecting keys are welded next to the cameras.

All movements outside the cell are only with a blindfold, on half-bent legs and with the face pressed to the knees. The pose is similar to that taken on the command “back to the starting position!”

Officially, cells can hold up to four people, but most of them are held in groups of two. For especially dangerous criminals, solitary confinement is provided. Sometimes, by order of the administration, someone can be moved to a new “neighbor”.

Control walk every 15 minutes. Upon hearing the sound of the cell's steel peephole, prisoners must freeze in place, spread their arms and legs, and spread their fingers. A prisoner can change his position and begin his report (full name, start date and list of articles for which he is imprisoned) only after the command “expenditure!” By the way, after each command you are supposed to answer: “Yes, citizen boss!”

All the furniture inside the cells is made of iron and tightly welded to its place. You can't even move a chair. If someone gets sick, the pills are transferred to the chamber on a special wooden spatula, like to wild animals...

After ten years of “serving”, if the prisoner has behaved well, he can be rewarded with a work permit. The work involves sewing shoes in specialized chambers with sewing machines.

Every lifelong prisoner of the Black Dolphin understands that he has the right to pardon only after the expiration of a 25-year sentence and subject to good behavior. That is why, if a vote was held on the topic of the death penalty, the majority of prisoners would probably be in favor of its return...

Approximate daily routine in the Black Dolphin

  • 6:00 - getting up, making beds, washing, cleaning the cell.
  • 6:30 - breakfast, turn on the radio.
  • 7:15 - turn on electrical outlets. Prisoners can use electric shavers. You can boil water, drink tea if you have tea leaves, or just boiling water.
  • 8:00 - start of the morning check, turn off the radio.
  • 9:00 - examination of prisoners by a doctor.

Women's colony in Krasnoyarsk IK-22

This does not include women who have broken the law for the first time - only repeat offenders who have been convicted more than once. There are three types of detention conditions for them: strict, ordinary and light. The strict ones contain the “most inveterate” ones, as well as those who violate internal regulations. You can get into the lighter ones for “exemplary behavior and a conscientious attitude to work.”

According to 2015 data, of the 837 convicted, the majority (682) are serving their sentences under ordinary conditions, 134 under light conditions and 21 under strict conditions. But everyone’s main occupation in prison is work – mainly in the sewing industry.

Women are also employed in sanitation and construction. On the forums of former inmates, there are complaints that “they were forced to dig a trench and lift concrete slabs.”

The main feature of Krasnoyarsk IK-22 is the opportunity for prisoners to serve their sentences while raising their children, for whom there is a children’s home on the territory. True, we are talking only about children under 3 years old. While mothers are busy with work and other prison duties, the children are under the supervision of qualified caregivers and teachers “from the outside.”

Convicted mothers take their children for a walk:

After 3 years, children are either given to relatives or sent to a regular orphanage. But if the mother has less than a year left to sit at the time of his third birthday, the child is left to her.

In addition to reminders of family, incarcerated women are given experimental therapy designed to return them to normal life. For example, in this photo they are drawing pictures from sand under the supervision of a prison psychologist.

There is also a psychological relaxation room.

The Russian prison system is just beginning to be changed to meet global “humane standards,” and many doubt that the improvements that are shown to journalists and television reporters are actually then used in everyday prison life. And a significant part of society does not understand at all why “brighten the lives” of ordinary criminals and murderers. Here, by the way, is an example of maximum humanity: look, .

Contingent

In “The Black Dolphin” the “scumbags” of the criminal world are serving their sentences - serial maniacs, brutal cannibal killers, terrorists. The institution is designed to accommodate 1,600 prisoners at a time, but is only half full (863 people). The number of guards is 900 people. Along with people, the colony is guarded by a group of specially trained service dogs.

All prisoners wear a black uniform with three white stripes.

Most of the prisoners were sentenced to death by execution. However, after Russia entered into a treaty on a moratorium on the death penalty, capital punishment was replaced by life imprisonment. The convicted person receives the right to petition for a change in the preventive measure after 25 years and subject to impeccable behavior.

The “Black Dolphin” contingent includes:

  • Vladimir Nikolaev is a cannibalistic killer.
  • Oleg Rylkov is a pedophile maniac.
  • Vladimir Naumov is a pedophile murderer.
  • Sergey Maduev - raider.
  • Alexey Pichugin is the organizer of murders and assassinations.
  • Oleg Kostarev is the organizer of the explosion at the Cherkizovsky market in 2006.

In total, the prisoners are responsible for the murder of 3.5 thousand people.

Story

The history of life-long prisons in general and the “Black Dolphin” in particular began under Catherine the Great - after Pugachev’s uprising, the need arose for the exile and imprisonment of robbers related to the rebellion.

By the middle of the 18th century, the prison became a place of exile for especially dangerous robbers and political criminals - prisoners here performed hard hard labor associated with the extraction and primary processing of salt. Few could withstand such conditions, so the prison always had a high mortality rate among prisoners.

At the beginning of the 20th century, “Black Dolphin” was a transit prison and a place for exile for prisoners suffering from tuberculosis.

During the Soviet Union, this place turned into a concentration camp. At the end of the 20th century, the Black Dolphin building housed a hospital for convicted criminals suffering from advanced tuberculosis.

And only at the beginning of the 21st century “Black Dolphin” turned into the institution that it still is - a place of detention for citizens sentenced to life.

In addition to the so-called “death row” prisoners, who are destined to spend the rest of their lives within these walls, the institution houses criminals sentenced to a long period with the right to apply for consideration of release after 25 years of imprisonment.

It is worth noting that not a single person has ever been released from the Black Dolphin.
