- Hello. Last year the law on contempt of authority came into force. In this regard, please clarify what is now allowed and not allowed to write about the authorities on social networks? I am always amazed at how people openly write nasty things about the President. Aren't they afraid that they will somehow be held accountable? How can a person who insults the head of state be punished?
– In 2022, a law on disrespect for authority was adopted. During the first year of the law’s operation, the first activists, journalists, social activists and ordinary citizens were punished under it. In total, more than a hundred people were brought to justice.
